Today: I’m God’s daughter first, and everything else second. I’m a multifaceted social servant. I Iove everything about Monarch butterflies and I dream of having a butterfly farm one day. I’m an ambivert who loves people but thrives when I’m alone (middle child things LOL). My sisters/tribe are my everything. I love Matcha lattes. I only watch television when I’m with my friends. I love chill hop music and writing in my journal. I’m a 2x University of Alabama Tuscaloosa alum.

My Story: I didn't choose the life I’m living - this calling and life chose me.

In 2012 I tried to kill myself. After the death of my best friend, being a freshman in college, and carrying the burdens of those around me, I became anxious, depressed, and struck by grief. After failing at suicide, my journey of becoming began.

My experience of higher learning became the voyage to awaken my purpose. College became less about the degree I’d get and more about who I was becoming, for a calling much bigger than me.

I was rejected from nursing school 3+ times. Those rejections built me for the better and changed my life. I became a Social Work major and the doors flung open. I was later reminded of a word my best friend left me with - Hupomone. What I didn't know was that that word would become my first book and thrust me deeper into purpose.

I believe that when we embrace healing, we collide with purpose and we become who we’ve always been created to be. I’ve always found myself in spaces where my work impacted someone’s soul. So now I am on a personal mission to see thousands become their greatest self, running their race in their lane.

WHAT IS HUPOMONE?

Hupomone – “the characteristic of one who is not swerved from their deliberate purpose and their loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and suffering.”

It is remaining in what is most uncomfortable and letting it produce endurance………………because you know only good can come from it!

My Race: As a senior in high school, I couldn’t understand the untimely death of my best friend. I sought God for understanding and He led me to park my car outside of her house. Minutes went by and there was a word on her car tag I’d never seen before - HUPOMON. That word marked me forever and became my purpose.

Additionally, I work full time in corporate as a school based mental health therapist. After 5:00 you can find me working on all things Hupomone!

Hupomone Ventures is dedicated to decreasing the rates of anxiety, depression, and suicide in communities of color, by enriching their minds, bodies, and spirits with innovative products, services, and experiences.

We exist to empower you to choose life and not death, because living life purposefully and abundantly should be your norm.

Stay Tuned. Experiences coming in 2024.

“Lifting a person’s heart, that matters. Later on in life it won’t matter what car we drove, what house we lived in, or what clothes we wore. What will matter is how many lives we’ve touched and how many lives touched us.” - Porcia Alexis - Anne Murrill
